Artificial Intelligence In PRO AV

How AI is transforming Pro AV

Artificial Intelligence has pervaded all industries right from Healthcare, Financial Services, Smart Manufacturing, Education etc.

It is when a machine starts to mimic cognitive functions that humans associate with other human minds, we start to refer it as Artificial Intelligence. Pro AV is not left behind and we see unprecedented growth in AI Technologies.

AI are being used to solve problems which is about acting intelligent on data in the following manner:

Present AV endpoints are capturing room metrics and system analytics. The cloud, 5G’s lightning-fast connectivity, IoT sensors, and artificial intelligence (AI) are converging to capture more valuable data in more locations and AV experts believe this confluence will usher in a new era of design, one in which systems are built with learned user behaviors in mind.

Video Cameras which can be integrated with Video Conferencing /Unified Collaboration have started to deploy more advanced system using A.I. algorithm that recognizes not just faces but body shape and posture, resulting in highly accurate tracking, panning and tilting. The system automatically zooms in and out on the video frame to include all meeting room participants, bundled with image cropping, so it’s easier to enjoy a more immersive and consistent video conferencing experience.

AI driven Room booking systems can monitor the live usage of rooms, detecting no-shows and enabling an empty room to be released back into the available room pool improving availability for users and enhancing room utilization.

Using AI Rooms that are not in use may be powered down to save energy and CO2 emissions.

AI power Room system monitoring and management systems can capture utilization data over time providing insight into room usage patterns and user behaviors. This data can then be used to inform decisions regarding future refits and new builds and to optimize room design and utilization.

Zoom has revolutionized Video Meetings as live transcripts tap startup Otter.ai’s speech recognition tech to record meetings in real time for posterity. Now, attendees can take notes directly in the Zoom interface or use live transcription for voice note taking, the latter of which is parsed by algorithms to derive action items automatically in the Meeting Timelines interface. Furthermore, meeting hosts can now bring their own interpreter with a mutli-channel audio experience that mixes the original and interpreter audio, enabling listeners to understand the interpreter while hearing the original speaker’s tone.

AI innovation is all set to revolutionize the education sector, taking e-learning to another level. Now long-distance pupils can benefit from interactive learning, despite their geographical distance from schools and colleges. For a growing number of displaced students, automatic machine translation is now vital, helping to minimise any further disruption to their education especially during the pandemic.

AI power collaboration Cloud systems are finding applications in board rooms and educational establishments alike. The system integrates an interactive, 20-point capacitive touch 4K displays with cloud services, enabling employees and students to log into a virtual office or classroom environment from anywhere in the world. Wireless screen sharing solutions allows documents to be worked on simultaneously by employees from several different subsidiary offices or by students from different schools and campuses. Allowing ideas to be discussed and worked on securely, ensuring that various permission levels can be set to manage the visibility of internal assets and documents.”

AI power solutions are making huge waves in the hospitality industry with potential user benefits like A hotel guest can simply ask to extend their check-out time or ask for the room service menu to appear on their hotel TV screen or order food or drink from menu with option of voice commands

Using state of the art artificial intelligence (AI) and sensor technologies, new interactive displays react to passing visitors and respond with content matching their physical characteristics. This provides a new way of presenting marketing messages and education through striking personalized interactive experiences based on visitor movement, height, body shape, gender and age.

AI is poised to have a fundamental impact on the digital signage business, as displays shift to 8K resolution with usage of techniques like Machine Learning Super Resolution (MLSR) and AI driven algorithms compare low and high-quality versions of the same content, and interpolate what’s missing could soon be seen on Samsung’s 8K displays and incoming MicroLED products. With display market rapidly shifting to the trend of large screens experts predict that 8K market growth is an inevitable trend powered by AI.

Crestron- which is a world leader in Pro AV and UC has already unveiled XiO Cloud, a new connected platform that uses AI to provide analytics on the usage of spaces. It’s also working on AI integration for networked audio, video and control systems across the enterprise.

Machine learning is a rapidly developing technology that is stimulating new usage models in Pro AV and broadcast. Xilinx – leader in adaptive and intelligent computing, is adding ML into adaptable platforms providing a highly integrated AV processor that delivers proven support for 8K video, AV-over-IP, and compression, and now adds advanced capabilities for monetizing analytics, improving workflow efficiency and enhancing usability. Ultimately, these integrated ML features is bound to allow companies to increase innovation, differentiate themselves, and accelerate time-to-market.

Samsung is demonstrating its AI commitment, investing heavily in its SmartThings smart home automation system by growing its ecosystem as well as its ability to serve customers. SmartThings products can connect with intelligent assistants like Bixby, Google Home, and Alexa—further connecting commercial and residential applications.

The integration of voice and intelligent assistants offers countless opportunities in the professional AV space. One such opportunity is pairing this technology with a smart Active Directory. Companies already have a database of their employees’ contact and business information. With a smart AD, enterprises can begin storing biometric data as well, including voice. This would completely eliminate the need to log in to flexible meeting spaces. Instead, employees could walk into a conference room and their preferences would be automatically enabled by voice recognition.

Pexip, a manufacturer of UCC solutions, is using AI technology dedicated to making scheduling, joining, and conducting a meeting easier so users can focus on the meeting itself empowering the user and save them time by allowing them to seamlessly join a meeting from the right device at the right time.

A company called Utelogy has launched a management platform ability to deliver management and monitoring data. And Utelogy’s clients are looking to use that data to provide artificial intelligence, as well as actionable intelligence, to drive future designs and installations. That data capture, through the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence make way for informed better design and integration choices.

Conclusion:

AI in Pro AV will spur an Organization’s Digital Transformation and AI will extend beyond the meeting itself as sensors are used to measure participant engagement, tagging and indexing of content, and predicting optimal technology and optimal space design. This is where it becomes part of an organization’s digital transformation and become more relevant in the workplace.
